Frequently Asked Questions & Answers (FAQ)

  1. Do I have to go to TAFE first to graduate from BSc in Games Development at UTS?

Yes. At this time, "BSc in Games Development" is only available via TAFE+UTS option. However, you can enter "BSc in Information Technology" at UTS directly and arrange your elective subjects to be exactly the same as the subjects you would have done in "BSc in Games Development" at UTS. You will miss out on the TAFE subjects, but will be able to graduate in 3 years instead of 4. Both options have their advantages.

  2. What about other courses in games?

There are a number of institutions that offer 'games' related courses. You should examine the curriculum for each program closely before making your decision. Even with a degree getting into the games industry will not be easy. Having a university degree does offer you a wider range of job options.
